Steve McClaren - it's simple...

by Xylophone @ Sunday, Mar. 25, 2007 - 00:46:32

I'm ashamed to say that I happen to know that Steve McClaren is a regular reader of my blog and this is a personal message to him. So my apologies to all of you who are not the current England footbal team manager.

Steve mate, your country needs you to resign. Be a hero.

Just tell him to be absent, that'll do it for me!

What about the England team? Should they also resign?

Hmmm. I think that since all the England squad are paid loadsamony by some of the biggest teams in the world, you have to assume that they can play a bit. Getting them to play a bit is the job of the coach.

Having said that, I've always thought that if I was the national manager I'd make a list of the 11 best players then cross their names out and select the second best 11 on the grounds that they will be hungrier.

Only one man in recent years has looked like he really wanted to play for England and that is the man that McClaren dropped.
